The Viking Club is the home of the Lodges of Thor No. 9 and Clara No. 118 of
the Independent Order of Vikings. The I.O.V. was founded in 1890 in Chicago
as a fraternal organization for the large Swedish community in Chicago.

Thor No. 9 was founded in 1901 as the first lodge outside of Chicago and is
today one of the largest I.O.V. lodges.

Clara No. 118 was founded in 1947 and is one of two I.O.V. lodges exclusively
for women of Scandinavian descent.

Both lodges support the Scandinavian heritage in the Quad Cities and invite
all persons of Scandinavian heritage to become members.
